Frequently asked questions

What is included in your apartments?

All of our apartments include a bed and basic furnishings, as well as cable and internet. All utilities are included. See a list of items in apartment here.

Can I stay month to month?

Yes, if you don’t have a definite departure date, after a minimum stay of one month, we offer a 14-day notice to vacate policy. That means you can stay for as long (or as short) as you need the property. When you are ready to leave, contact us via e-mail with your departure date at least 14 days prior to leaving. If we don’t receive at least 14 days notice before vacating, you may be charged the daily rate for 14 days. For example, if it is the 23rd of the month and you contact us indicating you will be leaving on the 30th, that would only be 7 days notice. You would be charged for an additional 7 days.

What are your payment options? Is rent pro-rated?

We send an invoice for the first month’s rent, which is due at least 5 days before arrival. Subsequent payments are due monthly. An invoice will be sent before the due date. We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Chase Quick Pay, cash and check. There is a $25 per month discount if payment is made with check, cash, or Chase Quick Pay. After one month, partial months will be prorated.

Do you require a security deposit?

Yes, we require a security deposit for all of our units. As long as the property is returned in good condition, the full security deposit is returned within 30 days of your departure.

Is parking available?

The building doesn’t have parking, but there are parking options close by starting at around $200/month. Unless you absolutely need a car, we suggest not bringing a vehicle with you. Public transportation is very accessible, and grocery stores, restaurants, etc., are within walking distance from the building.

What if I have a maintenance issue?

Do you offer cleaning service?

Apartments are cleaned between guests. Guests are responsible for keeping the apartment clean, but cleaning service is available for an additional charge.

Do you allow smoking in your properties?

No, we do not allow smoking in our properties. If a guest does smoke in the property, we will charge the client for the unit to be re-painted, and furniture to be cleaned and deodorized.

Do you allow pets?

No, pets are not allowed in Just Passing Through units.

How do I pick up my keys?

Once your reservation is confirmed you will receive detailed arrival information, which includes picking up keys.

What do I need to do at move-out?

Move-out must be by noon CST on your departure day. For your move-out, we ask that you return the property in the same condition it was rented to you in, including general cleaning.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your reservation 14 days or more prior to your move-in date/time, there is no cancellation fee If you cancel with 14 days or less prior to your move-in date/time, your deposit will be forfeited. If you choose a month to month option with 14 day notice to vacate, once you stay the minimum of 31 days then you can leave at anytime with a simple 14 day written notice. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to Info@justpassingthrough.com.

Do you offer early check-in or late check-out?

Yes, we offer early check in up to 2 hours before 3 p.m. check in time, and up to 2 hours after noon check out time—unless the apartment is occupied the day you arrive or the day you leave. Early arrival or late departure should be requested when the reservation is made, or at least two weeks before arrival/departure. Early arrival or late departure is not guaranteed. Departure more than 2 hours after noon departure time will be charged $50.
